SHILLONG: The State BJP has castigated the State Government over its failure to control to the dwindling law and order situation in Garo Hills.

In a statement issued here on Thursday. BJP Media Cell Convener Subhasish Choudhury said that the Law and Order situation is totally in a doldrums as the recent situation in Garo hills has again proved that the Government of the day has failed to check insurgency in the State and there is no security for the life of common men.

“It seems that State Government is not at all sincere for curving the insurgency in the State,” he added.

According to BJP, the Chief Minister who spends most of his time in Delhi finally has admitted the presence of Assam based militants in Meghalaya, influx of people with doubtful citizenship, and foreign nationals poses a threat to the state but in reality has taken very less interest to take constructive measures in this regard.

The party also took a dig at the Home Minister for falling to control crime against women in the state.

“After, a woman MLA was first assigned as a Home Minister of the State it was expected that a women in the State will get better protection and crime against women will get fast justice but it seems that crime against women has increased,” the statement added.

The party also said that the Government failed to implement the public distribution system even as sugar has gone out of stock in city.
