Molestation

A girl was molested by one person on Thursday evening at Mission Compound Block 1; however, the same was not reported to the police following hesitation on the part of the family. Expressing disappointment over the hesitation of the family members to report such serious matters to the police, the CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said not reporting gives rise to more of such incidents, and these people who indulged in such disgusting acts to women and children may even rape the girls if there is no one around. Urging the people to come out and file complaints when their little children are molested, Kharshiing said that people should not abstain from reporting such incidents while urging all victims of all forms of violence against women, to speak out and complain the matter to the nearest Police Station, so that such perpetrators are exposed and others are alerted.

Vehicles intercepted

As many as ten light motor vehicles were intercepted on Wednesday evening for violating the one way restriction from Polo Bridge on the way to Ganesh Das Hospital towards Polo Bazar. They were released after payment of fine Rs 5000. This regular violation has resulted in regular traffic jam in Polo Bazar. Police have requested the public to obey the traffic rules for the interest of all.

Police intercepted one Maruti Swift car (UP-16L-2037) at Babupara, Tura (WGH). However, on seeing the Police, the occupants of the car fled away. During search, Police recovered and seized one SBML gun from the car.

Torture

One Munni Devi lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that her son-in-law, Gautam Gupta tortured her daughter, Meena Shah Gupta, physically and mentally, since their marriage in 2010, also demanding dowry from her.

Accident

On April 27 circa 4 am, one truck (AS-01A-2479) dashed against a Mahindra Maxx vehicle (ML-04A-9893) at Mynkseh (EJH). As a result, one occupant of the Mahindra Maxx sustained injuries and shifted to CH, Jowai. The driver of the truck fled after the incident. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

Assault

On June 5 at around 8 pm, one Alsin D. Marak assaulted a teacher of St. Mathews’ School, Rimrangpara and also attempted to rape her in the campus (WGH).

Extortionists arrested

On June 4, Songsak Police (EGH) arrested three persons, Anil N. Marak, Sengman A. Sangma, and Janebat N. Sangma in connection with extortion case.

Missing

Ambrose Mawlieh lodged a complaint at Nongstoin that his son, Kabinson Sohshang (16 yrs) was found missing from Mawdoh, Rambrai (WKH), since June 4.

Threatening Case

One Wis Manner, Secy., Mynthning village lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on June 3 at around 11 am, one Bet Chyrmang, Lam Pakem, Ap Salahe and others illegally felled the standing trees from Mynthning Village Forest (EJH). They also threatened the Village Elders with dire consequences.
