SHILLONG: The State Police has denied any role into the alleged disappearance of ANVC (B) chairman Rimpu Marak, as claimed by the outfit.

Additional DGP (Law and Order) YC Modi on Sunday said, “We have not picked him up for any reason.”

The ANVC (B) on Saturday alleged that their chairman Rimpu Marak has gone missing since June 5 when SOT and Police personnel raided a place at Babupara in West Garo Hills.

The outfit also threatened that its cadres would return to the jungle if police do not disclose Rimpu’s whereabouts within 24 hours.

The district administration has also denied having any information on the arrest of the ANVC (B) leader.
