Itanagar: Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Ninong Ering has urged the district administrations to take initiative in creating Minority Blocks on priority basis in their respective districts so that benefits from the Ministry are reached to the deserving people in Arunachal Pradesh.
This was disclosed by the Union Minister during an emergency meeting held at Pasighat, headquarters of East Siang district, Erring said that only the creation of Minority Blocks, his ministry will be able to address the development issues of the minorities in a more effective way at district levels, he added, official sources said here today.
He further said 40 per cent population of the state belongs to Christians, Buddhists and Muslims but they could not avail various benefits extended by the union government under minority affairs aiming to provide basic amenities due to old 2001 Census report.
The deputy commissioner along with other senior officers of various departments attended in the meeting, sources added. (UNI)
