Meghalaya crime update

Body recovered

On June 11, one unidentified decomposed male dead body (40/50 yrs) was recovered from Umroro, Umiam Lake (EKH). Cadaver sent to CH, Shillong for PM examination and matter is under investigation.

Threatening cases

On June 8 at around 3.30 pm, one Debius Sangriang assaulted and also threatened Siprian Umiong (60 yrs) with dire consequences, at Wahlyngdoh village (WKH).

One K. Nongspung lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on May 22 at around 11.30 am, her daughter lost her cell phone at Mawlai Mawroh. Later, one unknown person threatened over phone to expose her photographs in the internet and also demanded Rs. 10,000 to return her cell phone. In this connection, Police arrested one Antonio Wahlang.

Theft

One Caroline R. Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on June 10, one unidentified person stole Rs. 20,000, kept in a Scooter parked at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).

Dr. Carter J.M. Sangma, DM&HO, West Garo Hills lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on June 9, unknown miscreants stole two batteries valued around Rs. 12,650 from two Government vehicles (ML-01-2224) and (ML-01-5930) from his residence near Ringrey (WGH).

On the night of June 9, unknown miscreants stole twenty-eight cell phones along with chargers valued around Rs. 2 lakh, and cash Rs. 7,000, from the shop of one Wulda Suchiang at Thadmuthlong Pyrdi (WJH).

Arrest

On June 1, Police raided the house of one Md. Ajub Khan at Shallang PHC campus (WKH). During the raid, one minor girl was rescued. Police also arrested one Md. Mustakin Khan.
