Condolence

The Shillong Muslim Union condoled the demise of Janab Kalimullah Khan, the former president of the union. In this connection, the union will hold ‘Khatme Quran Khwani’ on June 16 at 9:30am in Madina Masjid to pray for the departed soul.

Free Camp

A free medical camp, organised by Mawryngkneng Area Development Council will be held at Mawlyngad Village on June 15 at 10AM.

Seminar

The NSS P. G. unit, NEHU in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Orchid City, Shillong is organising a ‘No Tobacco’ seminar at the Science Seminar Hall, NEHU permanent campus on June 17 at 2 p.m.

Canvass

The canvassing of survey on sixth economic census in the state will be held on June 17 at 11am at the Raj Bhavan with Governor RS Mooshahary.

Marathon

The directorate of sports and youth affairs will be conducting the Shillong Half-Marathon challenge which is open only for the indigenous inhabitant of Meghalaya under 25 years for both men and women on July 6 for selecting athlete to participate in the Delhi Half-Marathon scheduled to be held on October 27.

Awards

The office of the district programme officer, ICDS (Cell) will distribute the state level award 2012-13 to Anganwadi workers and district incentive award 2012-13 to Anganwadi workers and helpers of East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi on June 26 at 3pm at the Anganwadi training centre of Shillong.

Notice

One highly decomposed male body aged about 35-40 years was recovered from Umroroh area of Umiam lake on June 11. The body has a tatoo mark of a cross on the middle finger of the left hand and one bangle on the right hand made of bronze and silver. He is 5ft 6′ tall, strong build with hair on the back potion is long. The body has been kept in Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification. People can contact at 9436115536.

Quiz

The Reserve Bank of India has launched an all India inter school quiz (RBIQ)-its new initiative at promoting financial literary at school level. RBIQ will be held at 44 locations across the country. Shillong edition of RBIQ 2013 will be held at St Edmund’s College on June 24 and it will be conducted by renowned Quiz master Gautam Bose from Greycells.
