Upgrade industries with modern technology: Lapang

NONGPOH: Chief adviser to the Government of Meghalaya Dr. D D Lapang on Friday emphasized on the need for entrepreneurs who run their industries, to upscale it with modern technology.

Lapang was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the ‘Enterprise Facilitation Centre (EFC)’, a basin development Unit under the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme at Umling C&RD Block office.He expressed that the presence of EFC will help the people of the area to look ahead on how to improve their day to day livelihood. The centre will be a hub where entrepreneurs can come together to share their views and opinions with the experts, he added.

He further called upon all the educated unemployed youth to come forward and make use of the opportunity for setting up their own businesses.

Earlier Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi District Akash Deep Singh who is also the Chairman of the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme under the district, called upon officers of all line departments to work hard and take serious steps to fulfill the mission of the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme.
