SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh U-19 cruised to a comfortable 5-0 victory against Malki on Monday courtesy Maitshaphrang Nengnong’s third hat-trick in four matches this season.

Eijingmut’s ninth-minute goal laid the foundations for yet another comprehensive victory for the junior Royals here at the JN Stadium, Polo.

Malki failed to capitalise on their chances, something that could have changed the match.

Maitshaphrang was the star of the day, scoring three goals in the second half to ensure his club’s triumph.

His first goal came in the 56th minute after he was brought down in the box and was awarded a penalty.

The striker scored a second in the 78th minute, followed by a nimble right-footer past the keeper in the 86th minute for his third goal.

Earlier, Donald Thangkiew doubled Wahingdoh’s lead in the 41st minute after collecting a rebound and sending a strong long range shot into the net.

On Tuesday, Langsning FC are to take on Nangkiew Irat SC at the JN Stadium at 4:00pm.
