SHILLONG: A lacklustre performance by Langsning FC saw them suffer a 0-1 loss to Malki SC in their U-19 Premier League match at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Thursday.
For Malki, Ferrando Shadap was the star of the day with a first half goal that ensured them victory despite some last minute hiccups.
This was a good victory for Malki, as they lost their last two contests rather heavily.
Ferrando scored in the 26th minute to put Malki in front and hold on to a narrow one goal lead until the end.
Langsning’s defence looked weakened while their attackers were unable to penetrate even after several attempts at goal, leading to their second successive defeat (and third overall) in this year’s League; they have won just one of their four matches.
Langsning’s Damehun Syih failed to latch onto a cross in the 84th minute and two minutes later, Bankitlang Pakyntein fired a powerful shot that sailed merely inches over the crossbar, denying his team any hope of a comeback.
On Friday, Pohkseh SCC will face Mawlai SC. Mawlai handed Rangdajied United FC a walkover in Wednesday’s match.
