SHILLONG: Pohkseh staged a comeback to win 2-1 against a spirited Mawlai side in a league match of the U-19 Shillong Premiere League here on Friday.

Taking the field with just nine players, the Mawlai side did well to restrict their opponents in the first half. With the inclusion of the tenth man after the break, Mawlai drew first blood in the 68th minute putting Pohkseh to the test.

Mawlai’s Pyntngen Rymbai hit a clean aerial ball to striker Badenkupar Marbaniang who sailed the ball into the nets. But a determined Pohkseh equalised with a Dannysius Pyngrope goal in the 74th minute.

Pyngrope drove home the equalizer following a free kick.

Just when the match looked heading for a draw, Rishan Kharkongor’s 90th minute freekick goal saw Pohkseh clinch a memorable win.
