Qualified Grade IV candidates threaten stir

 SHILLONG: The delegation of Qualified Grade – IV Candidates – 20II have found out that there are still many offices in the district, yet to send the availability of vacant seats to the DSC at the same time to cancel the appointment of all those employees who got appointed through the back door. “We urge all the respective government offices to send the number of vacant posts to the DSC as soon as possible and to remove all unqualified employees who got entry from the back door,” a member of the delegation said.

“The failure of the offices to comply with the demand will compel us to resort to some other steps to get what we hoped for,” he further said adding the documents obtained through the RTI have stated that there are many offices in the district which has not gone as per the sections of the Regular Casual Workers which clearly states that if there are two vacant seats, one should go to the DSC and this should be in 50-50 percent share.

The RTI findings further indicated that there are some sections in the law which restricts offices in the district to regularize any employee working as officiate, temporary and adhoc without the recommendation of DSC.

The director has no power to appoint anyone in any district offices but should report the same to the DSC to do the needful. He can only appoint people at the head office.

They urged the DSC to look into the matter and to check anomalies in the appointment process and also added that the delegation will continue to follow up the matter.
