Shillong: As part of its expansion and national campaign under financial inclusion, Canara Bank, Sohiong branch was inaugurated on Saturday by H DR Lyngdoh, Meghalaya Transport Minister and local MLA., in the presence of K C Khyriem, Parliamentary Secretary, Tourism department, L Blah, MDC, Satish Kumar Mathur, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank, Guwahati, Sunil Kumar Gupta, Chief Manager, Canara Bank, Shillong, Sordar and people of the areas at Sohiong.
Speaking at the occasion, Lyngdoh said with the opening of the Canara Bank, Sohiong Branch which is one of the Nationalized Bank in the country clearly demonstrates the commitment of the bank as the partner in the economic and financial development in the rural areas.
He also informed that the Bank will provide the people of Sohiong and its adjoining villages with the latest banking facilities like ATM, E-Banking, Mobile Banking beside the primary functions of the Bank.
