JOWAI: Two months after the murder of a sixty-eight year old woman and her twenty-eight-year old daughter inside their house at Umsalait village on May 9, West Jaintia Hills Police arrested four persons allegedly involved in the heinous crime.

According to West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Herbert G Lyngdoh, the arrested persons have been identified as June Louis Suchiang (25) of Umsalait village, Peter Suchiang (28) of Mowkaiaw village, Deiwashanmi Lyngdoh (38) and Kamwathmu Dkhar (39).

Earlier, police arrested Peter Suchiang on Monday, in connection of attempted rape and murder, from Iooksi village. Another accused, June Luis Suchiang was arrested last month for another case.

Sources informed that the arrest of Peter Suchiang has given the police clues about the twin murder and while he was being interrogated, Suchiang confessed that he along with his three other friends committed the twin murder in the village.

Based on his statement, police immediately arrested Lyngdoh and Dkhar on Tuesday.
