Resource mapping to unearth potential

SHILLONG: The Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith Sangma has asserted that the State Government would conduct resource mapping of the youth to identify potentiality and skill among youths in the State.

The Minister made the statement while speaking at the skill development course (DTP) conducted by b the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghathan (NYKS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports at the Don Bosco technical school.

The Minister stated that the resource mapping will help the government to identify the potentiality and employability of the youth especially by knowing their educational background

According to Sangma, the programme of providing DTP course was initiated by the government with an aim to provide the requirement of the general youths of the State.

Stating that unemployment is a main problem for youth in the State, the minister said that through this program, youth can employed themselves in setting up own business houses and to begin a career in Desktop Publishing and Design.

The State government has completed one of its aim by providing a free one month coaching class on Desktop Publishing (DTP) course to the talented youths of the State as part of the celebration of the ‘Year of the Youth’.
