lA co-passenger travelling on a Maruti 800 (MLO4B – 2212), Monlang Niang (29/M) sustained injuries after the vehicle was hit from behind by a truck (MLO5G – 0588) at Sohryngkham under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills. The Maruti car was heading towards Shillong from Jowai when the incident took place on July 15 at 12:32pm.
lAnother co-passenger of a Maruti Van, Rubinus Ripnar (26/M) sustained injuries after the vehicle was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction near the market at Umsning under Umsning Block, Ri-Bhoi District on July 14 at 9:35pm.
lOne Skhem Buam (2years7months/M) sustained injuries when the Maruti 800 he was travelling on hit, the backside of a parked truck at Shkentalang under Amlarem Block, West Jaintia Hills on July 14 at 12:04pm.
lIn a hit and run case reported from Byrnihat under Umling Block, Ri-Bhoi District, one Rabi Murmee (22/M) sustained injuries after he was hit by a moving vehicle while walking on the side of the road near the market area at Byrnihat on July 13 at 11:15am.
lA driver, Nitoya Kalita (28/M) of a TATA Sumo which was travelling towards Shillong from Guwahati sustained injuries when the vehicle overturned at Karbalu Main Road near Umsamlem under Umsning Block, Ri-Bhoi District on July 13 at 4:23am.
lSix people sustained injuries when the Maruti 800 they were travelling on was involved in a head on collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Umkhen Bridge on the by-pass road. The incident happened while the Maruti car was heading towards Diengpasoh on July 12 at 8:26pm. The injured persons have been identified as Sahilita Kharumnuid (40/F), Banskhemlang Kharumnuid (13/M), Bawan Pynbiang Kharumnuid (6/M), Nangsan Kharumnuid (4/M), Balamkyrpang Kharumnuid (9/M) and Kynsai Mylliempdah (43/M).
lA Mahindra Scorpio (MLO8B – 9279) which was travelling towards Tura from Guwahati went off the road and overturned after it hit an electric pole on the side of the road at Dimgok near Bajengdoba under Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills on July 12 at 1:42pm. The injured persons have been identified as Rajesh Jatia (41/M), Prachi Jatia (31/F) and Anand Agarwal (27/M).
In all the above cases, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at the respective locations helped in shifting the injured to various hospitals.
