SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) on Monday felicitated its member, Kitboklang Nongphlang, for being awarded the National Youth Award by the President of India in New Delhi recently.
Nongphlang, the president of the FKJGP Upper Shillong Circle, was selected from amongst 15 other candidates from all over the country, for his contributions to the society in the field of health, national integration and community development.
Nongphlang was felicitated by Prof LS Gassah who also lauded his achievement while calling upon the youth to follow his footsteps and work with enthusiasm to earn greater fame for themselves as well as for the State.
Others who were present at the function included KSU president Daniel Khyriem, FKJGP president Joe Marwein and FKJGP general secretary Wellbirth Rani, besides others.
