NONGPOH: The Assam Police on Saturday vandalised the kitchen shed of a lower primary school at Sabuda village, under Raid Nongtung in Ri-Bhoi district.

According to sources, the police personnel, who came in five to six vehicles accompanied by a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Karbi Anglong district, allegedly took away 30 bags of cement and iron rod meant for the kitchen shed which was under construction.

Meanwhile, Dorbar Shnong of Sabuda lodged an FIR at Mawlasnai police outpost.

Sources informed that Meghalaya policemen, who rushed to the spot, stood there as mere spectators.

The school, established in 1995, has been catering to around 40 students with two qualified teachers.
