JOWAI: Miffed with the adamant attitude of the State Government towards their demand for setting up of a blood bank, the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has called for a 22-hour bandh from 8 am on August 1.

The bandh will be effective in the two districts of East and West Jaintia Hills.

The JSU had demanded a blood bank in Jowai Civil Hospital and to start the functioning of the District Civil Hospital constructed at Ialong village.

The Union informed that the bandh call has been supported by various NGOs in Jaintia Hills.
