SHILLONG: The ex-service men cell of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed Kargil Vijay Divas here on Friday.
The party members paid tribute to late K. Clifford Nongrum (MVC) who on the night of June 30, 1999, in the fight to capture Point 4812, succumbed to his injuries.
The Kargil war, which was fought for more than 60 days, ended on July 26. A two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to those soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war, a BJP statement said.
