Cheating case
One Bhalang Dkhar of Ladrymbai (EJH) lodged a complaint that in September 2010, two persons, Flourning Rymbai and Gracening Rymbai cheated her and mortgaged her land with Jowai Cooperative Urban Bank Ltd. to secure a loan of Rs 8 lakh.
Assault
On July 29 at 8.30 pm, one Elvis Disiar (20) assaulted three persons, Spliden Syiemlieh (45), Roneldon Mawkhap and Wedarson K Bani, with lethal weapons at Mawpen, Mawsynram (EKH). As a result, Splinden Syiemlieh died on the spot, while the two others sustained injuries and were shifted to CH, Shillong. Following this, the villagers also fatally assaulted the accused.
On July 27 at about 10.30 pm, one John Synrem, EE, Revenue Division, MeECL, assaulted Subodh Kumar Roy a casual labourer at the MeECL office at Polo Hills, Shillong.
Murder
On July 29 at about 3 am, Suklang Mylliemngap murdered his wife Betheldi Khongji (26) by burning her alive in their residence at Nongeitniang, Pynursla (EKH). The accused was arrested.
Theft
On July 29 morning, unknown miscreants stole six bags of rice, eighteen plastic chairs and sports items, total valued around Rs 44,480 from Salwood English School at Gasuapara (SGH).
R Wahlang, the MCS of Sohra (C) lodged a complaint at Sohra PS that on July 26, five PC Tablets were stolen from the office of SDO (C), Sohra.
On July 22, one Spailin Sangkli broke into the house of one Sedro Sohphoh at Mawkhlam, Nongpyndeng village (WKH) and stole two cell phones, one gold ring and Rs 18,000.
Accident
On July 17 circa 9 am, one truck (AS-01BC-2712) dashed against a Mahindra Maxx vehicle (ML-05H-4865) at Ialong, NH-44 (WJH). Thirteen persons sustained injuries and were shifted to KJP Hospital Jowai and CH, Jowai. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
