Online survey

The Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, is conducting a performance review on Tourism Activities in Meghalaya. In this connection, an online Meghalaya Tourism Satisfaction Survey has been hosted on the office website from July 26 to September 26. Individuals wishing to participate in the online survey should go to the link http://agmegh.cag.gov.in/tourist/fillsurvey.aspx or www.cag.gov.in.

Get together

The Sohra Presbytery will organise a get together on August 18 at the KJP Girls’ HS School Hall, Shillong from 1 pm.

Meeting

Persons from the villages who will be affected by the proposed land acquisition for the New Shillong Township along with organisations such as KWADA, KSU, TUR, CSWO, FKJGP, HNYF and others will hold a meeting and rally at Malki Ground on August 1 from 10 am.

Competition

St Mary’s Higher Secondary School will organize several competitions including choir singing on August 2, drawing and painting on August 3 and recitation in English and Khasi on August 5 as a part of the centenary celebrations of the School.

Birth anniv

The Rabindranath Tagore Club will observe the Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore in collaboration with Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School and will also organise a prize distribution ceremony of the 6th inter-Shillong cultural meet-2013 cum souvenir release on August 4 at the U Soso Tham Auditorium from 2.30 pm onwards.

Metallica-Sargam Sports & Cultural Club in association with Department of Art & Culture and Allianz International Club will hold its 12th Annual inter-school competition prize distribution cum valediction ceremony on August 3, 2013 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah from 11.30 am onwards.

Clarification

The Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police has clarified that the police recovered a male body from Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi district and not a female body as reported. However, the Meghalaya police website states that the body recovered was that of a female.

Jaintia Hills NGOs comprising of KSU-JHD, AJYWO, HNYF-ER and JYF on Tuesday met the JHADC CEM and sought a copy of the District Council’s views and recommendation on the draft bill – the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution (Amen-dment) Bill, 2012.
