Theft
* G. Pariat, the SO of Estate Office, GAD lodged a complaint at Rilbong BH, that on July 31 at about 3.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole bathroom fittings from the A-type 2 Units quarters at Rilbong.
* On the night of July 30, unknown miscreants broke into the house of one Roton Shome at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH) and stole two cell phones and garments total valued around Rs. 27,600.
* On July 29, Police arrested one minor boy (16) in connection with attempted robbery under Mendipathar PS.
Fund misappropriated
One Ramjit Modok lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 18, one Helang Modok misappropriated Rs. 30,000 and fled away.
Armed robbery
* One Munna Mary R. Sangma lodged a complaint at Kharkutta OP that on July 29 at about 1.30 am, unidentified armed miscreants entered her house at Badaka Chinalsa village (EGH), assaulted her and looted Rs. 50,000.
* Md. Tahidur Rahman lodged a complaint at Rongjeng PS that on July 29 around 1.30 am, unidentified armed miscreants numbering 6-7 of them entered into his house at Rongjeng Bazar (EGH), looted Rs. 24,000 and one cell phone. They also demanded Rs. 2 lakh from him.
Assault and threatening cases
* One Abdul Kholi lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 30 at around 12.30 pm, one Ashif Hussain assaulted and also threatened him with dire consequences at Star Plaza market, Police Bazar. Earlier, one Sultana Parveen lodged a complaint against Ashif Hussain and two lady customers stating that on July 27 at around 6 pm, the trio came to her shop at Star Plaza and attempted to commit theft. When they were confronted by the staff, the accused persons threatened them with dire consequences. In a counter FIR, Ashif Hussain complained that Sultana Parveen threatened him with dire consequences at Star Plaza.
* One Surbit Koch lodged a complaint (July 29) at Kalaichar PP that one Gopal Basfor, Sweeper of Kalaichar PHC, attempted to forcibly enter the official quarter of his (complainant) wife at Kalaichar (SWGH) and also threatened her with dire consequences.
Kidnapping
One Rapson Sangma lodged a complaint at Bogularbhita OP that on July 28 at around 11 pm, one Ali Sheikh kidnapped his daughter (19) from his house at Chanuapara village (WGH).
Molestation
One Lamawanka Kharbhih lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 27 at around 5.30 pm, one Abdul Mukid, proprietor of M/s New Fashion, Police Bazar, Shillong, outraged her modesty while she was shopping in his shop.
