Lajong kick off pre-season training

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC kick-started the pre-season with their first training session on Monday at Polo Ground.

New signings Subhash Singh, Milan Singh and Vinay Singh joined the squad in the first training session, under the guidance of coach Thangboi Singto.

The club’s other two new signings, Cornell Glen and Charles Edoa will be arriving later this month, along with Taisuke Matsugae.

The first day saw the senior team squad members train with a lot of intensity and energy and all looked sharp and committed throughout the session, according to an SLFC press release.

Shillong Lajong FC are set to usher in the new season with a well balanced side,even as the city prepares to welcome a new team in town to the I-League.

Salgaocar, Pune FC sign new players

Meanwhile, Salgaocar have signed striker Darryl Duffy after a trial, making him the third foreigner to join the club for the upcoming season.

Duffy, from Scotland, started his career for Rangers and has also played for Hull City and Swansea City.

Pune FC also recruited a new player on Monday, taking on Spanish-born Equatorial Guinea international and former Villareal ‘B’ striker Raul Ivan Fabiani Bosio.

The 29-year-old Raul becomes Pune’s fifth signing in the pre-season and joins Douhou Pierre as the second player in the foreign quota. (with Agency inputs)
