ITBP holds tree plantation drive

 SHILLONG: Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) NE Frontier, Shillong in collaboration with the Forest Department on Tuesday organized a tree plantation drive at 3rd mile area.

Speaking on the occasion, IG NE Frontier ITBP R K Saini asked the department to provide land to the force for tree plantation in and around Shillong city.

He also said that ITBP would continue with the initiative in the form of adopting community land for plantation of a variety of trees and taking measures to care for the same. More than 400 saplings of assorted plants, to ensure an ecological balance and enhanced green cover in Shillong area, were planted during the occasion.
