SHILLONG: The body of a minor girl (12), who was reportedly missing on Friday from Chisimapal village under Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills, was recovered on Saturday morning from a bank of a river.
Police suspect that the girl was raped and murdered.
It was during the afternoon hours of August 9 when the girl had gone to deliver a food packet to her father, who is a shopkeeper at Gogolgre bazar.
Her body was recovered with her throat slit, police said
