Blood donation

NEIGRIHMS Blood Bank in collaboration with Meghalaya AIDS Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Council will organise a motivational talk & voluntary blood donation camp with the Heritage, a Socio Cultural Organization, R&R Colony, Rynjah, on August 15 at the locality Community Hall from 9 am.

Awareness prog

An awareness programme on HIV/AIDS was conducted by the NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Seng Khasi College on August 12, 2013 in the College. A film directed by Yirmiyan Arthur Yhome The Test was screened. The film is a documentary on women living with HIV/AIDS and their struggle.

Reunion

I-Day notice

The Raj Bhavan will be kept open for the general public on August 14 and 15 from 5.30 pm to 7:30 pm in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.

The East Khasi Hills district administration has arranged free conveyance for the public who wish to attend the Independence Day celebration at Polo, Khyndai Lad and State Central Library. The buses will start plying on their respective routes from 6.30am.

Dry day

The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi districts have declared August 15 as dry day. All IMFL shops, bars, hotels and club will remain closed on the day.

Felicitation

The Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan, Shillong Branch, will felicitate Bengali students who have excelled in the Class 10 and 12 examinations, on September 7 at Aurobindo Ashram. Students can contact the general secretary of the organization, Devi Goswami Dey at 9436165347 for details.

Counseling

IGNOU counseling for MEG will be conducted from August 24 to October 5 at IGNOU study centre, EFL University (Formerly CIEFL), Shillong campus at Umshing-Mawkynroh, Mawlai. Students who have taken admission to the above courses should meet the coordinator for details.

Programme

A skill development programme will be organised by the Employment Regeneration Committee of the Synjuk Seng Samla Shnong on August 17 at 12.30 at Don Bosco Technical School, Laitumkhrah.
