Arrest

On August 17 morning, Police arrested one Karbar Sayoo in connection with an attempted robbery under Khliehriat police station.

Theft

On August 16 afternoon, miscreants stole Rs. 50,000 and some documents from a vehicle (ML-10A-4768) belonging to Weris Talang (56) at Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi.

Vehicle torched

On August 16 around 2.10 pm, miscreants set fire to one Government vehicle (Bolero ML-01-1838) allotted to Francis Nongpoh, Range Forest Officer at 12th Mile, Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi . As a result, the vehicle was partially damaged.

Body recovered

On August 15 afternoon, on being led by Bakul Ramchiary (an accused arrested in connection with kidnapping/abduction case under Khliehriat police station), Police recovered the body of Bhawanlal Yadav (51) from a jungle at Thangskai, East Jaintia Hills.

Threat

On August 13 around 4 pm, Wanletmi Lapasam (28) threatened Promise Lapasam and his family members at Wapungskur in East Jaintia Hills with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.

Minor raped

On August 11 around 4:30 pm, two persons, Elbinus Sawkmie (18) and Nestson Hujon (21) raped one minor girl(14) at Mawiong Rim, Shillong. Again on Aug. 13 at about 6 pm, Elbinus Sawkmie again raped her at Lawsohtun Block-6, Shillong. Police arrested both the accused.

Assault

On August 8 around 8:30 pm, Marding Suiam assaulted one Shing Lyngdoh with a dao at Latymphu village, West Jaintia Hills . As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Jowai.
