SHILLONG: The State unit of the BJP has rubbished media reports that the party is divided over the leadership issue.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, BJP Meghalaya president Khlur Sing Lyngdoh dismissed claims by some senior party functionaries about the growing dissension in the party, saying that the party always takes collective decision on any matter.

It was reported in a section of the press that some present and former office bearers of the party from Khasi and Garo Hills have demanded the removal of Dipayan Chakraborty as the general secretary of the party.

Lyngdoh also stated that all members in the State unit were nominated with approval from the central party leadership.
