SHILLONG: In an effort to contain the alleged menace caused by outstation candidates staying in rented houses in the city, the Seng Samla, Malki will organise an awareness campaign next month to educate the house owners on the various kinds of nuisance created by these students.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Seng Samla, Malki president, Kennedy Warlangpih alleged that for the past few years, the outstation students have started involving themselves in various unseemly activities, with no respect to the rules and regulations laid down by the Dorbar Shnong.

“This awareness campaign will be held with an aim to reach out to the house owners, seeking their cooperation in this regard and asking them to maintain strict rules and regulations when it comes to providing accommodation to these students,” Warlangpih said.

Warlangpih claimed that this campaign will not only prevent the students from repeating the disorderly behaviours in the locality but also help them to concentrate in their studies and career.
