MLCU organises health Camp

 SHILLONG: Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong reached out to the rural communities by conducting a health camp in Moodymmai village, Thadlaskein Block, Jaintia Hills District on August 24.

This camp was organised with an aim to expand the university’s awareness programme to the marginalized section of people in the area.

MLCU students with the help of government medical doctors are covering 10 schools and 4 Anganwadis

A total of 336 people benefited from the camp, including 143 school children. The most common diagnoses were nutritional anaemia, dental caries, cataract, allergic conjunctivitis, refractive errors. Malnutrition and vitamin deficiency diseases were also common amongst women and children.
