The first marvel at the sunrise, I have experienced,
I have made tools from rock and wood, turned master to all of my kin.
The pyramids I have constructed with bare hands,
I have, though fickle and weak, travelled far and wide.
I have shed blood, necrophilia your gift to me.
I have been Hercules and Achilles challenged you, humiliated you
Gassed my own kind as homage to you.
I have been Buddha and Gandhi shown the blind a path to reach you.
I have killed my mother, whose womb provided sanctuary…
I have mutilated her, given her metal limbs
To hold my massive ego.
I have loved women, lusted over them,
Raped them in public, left them to die in the cold.
I have given children my eyes to see the world and beyond,
To marvel at the horror and the beauty I have left behind.
I have left them poison to smell and a family to love.
I have passed to them my hate for those of other choices,
And my love to write sweet words on paper.
I am man; I fear no one and everyone.
I hate what I think and love what I spit out.
You are my child and small though you may be.
I present you with this world that you would hate and love
And murder and rescue just like me.
