Ex-JHADC CEM dies at 51

JOWAI: Five-time MDC from Mookaiaw and former Chief Executive Member (CEM ) of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Qually Suiam passed away on Wednesday at his residence at Mookyrdup, Jowai. He was 51. Suiam was the current EM in charge Civil Work Department of the JHADC.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at the cemetery of the Mootyrshiah Presbyterian Church at 12:30 pm.

Suiam, who expired at around 3.30 am due to high blood pressure, is survived by his wife Sniawbhalang Ksoo and four children.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee led by its President, DD Lapang, has condoled the sudden demise of Suiam, who was a senior leader of the party.

“His contributions to the party and the people of the state will long be remembered, the MPCC said in a statement.
