Arrests

On September 3, police arrested Tengrang M Momin (20), Authomn Areng (21) and Petety N Areng (23) in connection with a dacoity case under Mendipathar PS.

Narcotics

On September 3 at about 2:30 pm, residents of Madanriting Block-A, Shillong, apprehended two persons, Rahul Sunar (24) and Sameer S Dhar (22) from the locality. From their possession, one golden tobacco container with 0.70 grams of suspected drug was recovered.

Body recovered

On September 2, the body of a mentally unstable person, Dadot T Sangma (32) was found hanging from a tree at Robagre (WGH). The deceased was reportedly missing from Daldagre, Tura, since August 28.

Theft

On September 2, unknown miscreants stole one TV set, one desktop computer, one printer and cash amounting to Rs. 15,000 from the house of one Jasbir Singh at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).

Rape

On September 1 at around 10:30 am, Simseng D Sangma (23) allegedly raped one minor girl (13), in her house at Kokaimari village (WGH). Police arrested the accused.

Murder attempts

One Rellingstone D. Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on August 26, one Newsrell D Sangma had attempted to murder his daughter by brandishing a khukri (knife) and also threatened her with dire consequences at Little Flower School at Najing Bazar (WGH).
