Inauguration

Notice
The Electoral Registration Officer of Sohra Constituency has informed that the electoral roll has been prepared in accordance with the registration of elector’s rule 1960 and a copy thereof is available for inspection at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer and at the designated polling stations during office hours. The qualifying date for the preparation of electoral rolls is January 1, 2014.
Condolence
The central puja committee has mourned the untimely demise of Late Shekhar Bhattacharjee on August 26. During a meeting held, a one minute silence was observed and prayer was offered.
Clarification
The East Khasi Hills district police have clarified that the news items which appeared in the daily on September 3 should have been ‘two persons Jibarkor Thabah (22) and Banjop War (23) both hailing from Pynthorbah were arrested from Pynthorbah Block III near Vilco School and not ‘Wilco School Pynthorumkhrah’.
