Police summon KSU members in arson case

 SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Police on Sunday issued notices under Section 41 of the CrPC to KSU members of Nongmynsong unit to report to the police station on Monday after it was established that they were involved in the recent arson-related cases in the area.

On Saturday night, police arrested one Donbor Wahlang, president of KSU Nongmynsong unit, and Starsing Nongsiej, member of the same unit, for their involvement in the recent arson cases in the area.

According to the police, the notices issued against the other KSU members of Nongmynsong unit who were not available on Saturday night, were based on the revelation made by the two arrested KSU members.

Police also arrested one Banlumlang Syiemlieh, a KSU member, and recovered a catapult and stone pellets from his possession.

Police officials stated that failure to adhere to the notices will result in the matter being taken up in the court, after which police would be empowered to initiate necessary actions accordingly.
