NONGSTOIN: To address the growing problem of illegal parking of vehicles within Nongstoin Town, the Nongstoin Traffic Branch has decided to make use of clamping device which would be put into use from Sep 16.

“The clamping device will be put on the vehicle’s tyres and a sticker will be pasted on the driver’s side of the windshield. Whenever the vehicle is clamped, the owner has to report to the Nongstoin Traffic Branch to get the vehicle unclamped, after payment of the requisite fine,” West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police S Nongtnger told reporter.

He said the Nongstoin Traffic Branch had brought this new device to tackle the menace of illegal parking which is one of the root causes for the traffic jam.
