3 KSU held, arson continues

SHILLONG/NONGPOH: Stray incidents of arson were reported from some parts of the State as the pro-ILP group sponsored road blockade entered its second night on Wednesday.

Police arrested three KSU activists from Upper Motinagar, here on Tuesday night during a routine checking. Catapults and pellets were recovered from their possession.

The three KSU activists are Wilson Ryngkhlem (26), Kitboklang Lyndem (24) and Rishal Nongsiej (21).

Meanwhile, miscreants attempted to set one local taxi (ML-05D-1311) belonging to one Md. Sohrab on fire at Nongkhyriem, Nongthymmai on Wednesday afternoon.

Miscreants pelted stones on a shop at Nongthymmai and Rynjahon on Tuesday evening. On Tuesday, unknown miscreants set the Veterinary office at Riangdo (WKH) on fire. The office was partially damaged. Meanwhile, a report from Nongpoh said, unidentified miscreants hurled a petrol bomb on a running truck at Umdihar soon after night road blockade came into effect on Wednesday.

Incidents of stone pelting were reported from Shangbangla, Pahamrioh and Umdihar.
