Assault

  • One Dris Marngar lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on September 9 at around 11 am, one Shidaris Marshiangbai assaulted her mother at Laitkseh village. As a result, the victim sustained injuries.
  • On September 11 at around 3 pm, Sylvester Rymbai and Raju Rai assaulted one Nitam Bakti, driver of a truck (AS-24C-2072) and looted Rs. 10,000 from him.

Accident

On September 9 around 9:30 am, Babul Debnath, a driver of truck (AS-11AC-8264), fell down from the truck at Tongseng, NH-44 (EJH) and died at the spot.

Funds misappropriated

  • P Nartiang, the Secretary of the Women Thrift Credit Co-operative Society Ltd, lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that Rilung Sumer, a Collector of the Society had misappropriated Rs. 10,27,100.
  • Bindarson C Marak, the Nokma of Alokpang A’king along with others lodged a complaint at Baghmara PS that three persons, Dingban M Sangma, Silinson A Sangma and Harmingstone R Sangma have misappropriated Rs. 1,58,000 under the National Watershed Scheme and Nokatgre Micro Watershed Scheme.

Stabbing case

On September 7 at about 11 pm, unidentified miscreants stabbed one Nishwa Snieh with a sharp weapon at Nongjngi village (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and has been admitted at CH, Jowai.

Missing

One Anjana Sharma lodged a complaint that on September 10, her 15-year-old daughter left home for school and has since not returned home.

Threat cases

  • One Uttora D. Sangma lodged a complaint that on September 10, she received a call from mobile-phone (No. 8415099921) in which the caller threatened her with dire consequences.
  • One Arabella Wanniang lodged a complaint that one unidentified person had been making calls with filthy language on her mobile-phone from three different mobile-phones (No. 8014330968, No. 8014799284 & No. 9485033515).
  • One Chelida Talang of Wahiajer (WJH) lodged a complaint that her ex-husband, Kolbes Lyngdoh frequently called her from a mobile-phone (No. 9856254395) and threatened her with dire consequences.

Apprehension

On September 10 at around 11.15 am, Mawngap Police detained one truck loaded with cement at Marbisu Petrol Pump (EKH) which was found plying with two number plates (ML-05H-5107 & ML-05J-5107). Matter is under enquiry.
