The BDO, Mawphlang C&RD Block, has informed that the block level arts and cultural competition will be held on September 16 at the Community Hall, Mawngap, from 10 am.
Medical clinic
The Global Hospital group will conduct a super-speciality Nephro clinic on September 23 at Shillong Civil Hospital, to be conducted by Dr Y Sandeep Reddy.
Hindi Diwas

The Jingiaseng Samla Shillong Ri Lum Presbytery will organize a gospel musical concert cum food fest in aid of Mairung Heh Presbyterian LP and UP School, Ri Bhoi, on September 14 at the KJP Girl’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, from 11 am.
Debate
Zenith Jubelieth Club will hold 16th all Shillong Dr MM Das memorial Inter College Debate competition 2013 on September 14 at 2.30 pm. Also the prizes for the previously-held bridge, chess and sit and draw competition will be held after the debate competition.
Notice
The interview for the candidates (B.Ed session 2014) whose names are listed for September 18 has been postponed till September 21 on account of Unitarian Day. Time and venue will remain the same. Interview for September 19 and 20 will be as scheduled.
Office bearers
The Meghalaya Survey Surveyor Service Association have elected new office bearers (2013-15) with Synshar Wanshnong as adviser, Anthony ES Lyngdoh as president, Nostarnath Mawshun and Sanbalat Sonbell Dkhar as vice presidents and Farewell Nongkynrih as general secretary, besides others.
Blood donation
The NSS Unit, NEHU, conducted a blood donation camp on September 9 at the NEHU Health Centre. 32 volunteers donated their blood in the camp. The programme was conducted in collaboration with MACS, Regional Blood Bank Pasture Institute and Meghalaya State Blood Transfusion Council.

Corrigendum
UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh has clarified that he had referred to the Govt of India Act, 1935 as the basis of the Constitution of India and not the’ Indian Independence Act, 1935′ as had been reported in ST (Sept 12 edition).
