Meghalaya Crime Update

  • On September 18 around 3 am, unknown miscreants set fire to haystacks belonging to Sunilal Rai (52) and Surendra Rai (54) at Pynthorbah Block-I, Shillong.
  • Police arrested one Iengskhemlang Pariong (21) in connection with a rape case under Nongstoin PS (WKH).
  • On September 17 around 11 pm, police intercepted one Tata Sumo (TR-01P-6775) at 17th Mile under Byrnihat OP (RB) and recovered 146 strips of Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus and 1091 100ml Phensedeyl bottles. Police have arrested three persons Md. Usman Goni (31), Raj Kumar Deb Barma (33) and Sunny Deb Barma (28).
  • On September 17 around 1 am, two persons Jojo Phawa and Samson Phawa assaulted Ricken Lyngdoh in his house at Paham Syiem (Ri Bhoi). The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Nongpoh.
  • On Sep. 17 around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants assaulted and looted Rs 6000, from Rana Mug, driver of truck (AS-01N-9322) at Mawryngkneng (EKH).
  • On September 16 around 6 pm, one Albinus Ksoo threatened his sister Philli Ksoo and others with dire consequences at Kyndong Tuber Lum RC (West Jaintia Hills). Police have arrested the accused.
  • On September 13 around 1.30 pm, unknown miscreants set fire to a store room at the Office of SDO, PWD(R) at Khliehriat (East Jaintia Hills). The store room was partially damaged.
  • On September 13 around 12.30 am, unknown miscreants set fire to the Office of BDO, C&RD Block at Khliehriat (East Jaintia Hills).
  • On September 9, one Rajit Khonglah stole Rs 9000 from the house of one Arid Khonglah at Jongushen village (WJH). Police have arrested the accused.
  • On September 5 around 8 pm, unidentified armed miscreants went to the house of Rojonsing Sangma at Manggakgre (WGH) and looted Rupees 2,17,500, which was meant for payment to MREGS Job Card holders.
