NSS programme

The National Service Scheme, NEHU will organize a day-long programme to celebrate the 44th NSS Foundation Day on September 24 at the NEHU Convention Centre from 10 am. Paul Lyngdoh, MLA, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Colleges will be presenting varied programmes and the University Level Awards will also be presented on the occasion.

Office bearers

The KSU Mynska (West Jaintia Hills) unit was formed recently with Franklin Sayoo as president, Emlang Suchiang as vice president, Danny Lapasam as general secretary, Hamboi Wan as asst. general secretary, and 15 executive members, among others.

Training prog

The ten-day National Youth Corps Volunteer Training organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Meghalaya Zone, which kicked-started on Sept 12, concluded on Sept 21.The trained volunteers will act as development activists as well as social change agents in their respective districts in coordination with the district administration and other agencies.

Competition

Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, will be organising the Sarodiyo competition during the Dura Puja celebrations for five categories – best pandal, best lighting, best discipline, best interior decoration and best priest. The competition will be judged on a 50-50 basis by judges and through public voting via SMS. For SMS voting, one needs to type A or B or C or D then space then type the name of the puja committee and send it to 8974849453.

The finals of the Menorah Sports and Cultural Club 10th Sur Sangam would be held at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture on October 6.

Awareness

The Directorate of Commerce and Industries will organise an awareness programme on Modernization of Meat Shop at the conference hall of the Martin Luther Christian University on Sept 24 at 11 am. Additional Chief Secretary PBO Warjri will be the chief guest.
