Theft

On September 19 around 9 pm, unknown miscreants stole 100 metres of copper welding cable belonging to M/s Meghalaya Power Ltd., at Lumshnong (EJH).

On September 24 at around 8 am, unknown miscreants stole one electric motor from Jowai Civil Hospital (WJH).

On September 24 at around 10:45 am, unknown miscreants stole one car tape and some money from a Maruti local taxi (ML-05K-0424) at Fire Brigade.

On September 23 at around 11:30 pm, two persons, Chal Lamare and Pyrkhat Pyrtuh looted one mobile phone and Rs. 22,000 from the house of one Hari Nath at Namdong (WJH).

On September 23 night, unknown miscreants stole Rs. 1,000 from Laxminarayan Temple at HQ, EAC, and Upper Shillong.

On September 22 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09A-2198) belonging to one Rolings M Sangma from his residence at Bolsal A’ding (SGH).

On September 21 night, unknown miscreants stole one computer from the shop of Rana A Sangma at 9th Mile, Tura (WGH).

Arrest

  1. On September 23 at about 8:15 pm, three persons, Mintu O. Sangma (26), Eraster R Marak (22) and Diam R Marak (24) criminally trespassed into a Government Quarter at Police Reserve, Shillong and also threatened the occupants with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused persons.
  2. On September 23, Police arrested one Jakirul Islam in connection with murder under Tikrikilla PS.
  3. Police arrested one Ebreson Syngkon in connection with arson case under Jowai PS.
  4. Police on Wednesday evening arrested two persons – Md Jahidul Islam (20) and Debojit Das (28) both hailing from Barpeta, Assam – for setting ablaze a bee hive on a billboard located on the terrace of Green Hill restaurant at Polo without taking permission from the landlord. The duo was arrested from Green Hills Restaurant at Polo Bazar and one bottle containing kerosene was seized from them.

Fraud

  1. One Jenny Khongwir lodged a complaint at Khanapara PS that on September 21 at around 10 am, he handed a Cheque for Rs 1 lakh to one Jaishih Makri Mondol to cash the same from SBI Bank at 9th Mile (RB). However, the accused fled away along with the cheque.
  2. One Dayoomica Laloo and other employees of ACME Service (Finance Company) Jowai Branch lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that Casper Tariang, Managing Director, ACME Service, Laitumkhrah had cheated the depositors of the company.

Tinted glasses

The drive against tinted glass entered the second day on Wednesday and traffic police managed to detain as many as 19 vehicles where tint were removed and Rs 8700 was realized as fines from these vehicles.
