New Delhi: Diplomats from 36 foreign missions have accepted invitation from the BJP to attend Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Delhi on Sunday.

“We sent invitations to 45 countries for the rally. Out of these, 36 have confirmed that their representatives will attend the Vikas Rally,” BJP overseas affairs convenor Vijay Jolly On Saturday told.

He said US Ambassador and British High Commissioner were not in the capital.

Mr Jolly said diplomats from Germany, Russia, China, Japan, South Africa, Sweden and others will attend the rally, which will be held at Japanese Park in Rohini. He said no invitation was sent to the Pakistan High Commission.

“After the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, we want all talks with Pakistan, to be stopped,” Mr Jolly added.

BJP had invited the US Ambassador even as that country in 2005 denied visa to Mr Modi over allegations of human rights violations during the 2002 Gujarat riots. (IANS)
