SHILLONG: The Pine City is now limping back to normalcy with the end of the five-day-long night road blockade on Friday without any arson case being reported in the city on Saturday.

The commercial nerve centres of the city — Khyndailad and Bara Bazar (Iewduh) — witnessed resumption of normal business activities while vehicles were seen plying on the roads till the late hours of Saturday.

A day earlier, several cases of arson attacks were reported from across the city during the daytime including a petrol bomb attack at Butcher Compound, Lower Mawprem at around 4.45 pm on Friday.
