SHILLONG: The Meghalaya High Court on Tuesday rejected the petition filed by former Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister L Wanglet seeking the quashing of the FIR filed against him for allegedly abusing women security guards of the Shillong Golf Course recently.

The FIR was filed in August by CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing.

According to sources, Wanglet had pleaded before the High Court to quash the FIR filed against him citing that the complainant has no locus-standi. In other words Wanglet argued that the complainant cannot file an FIR on behalf of another.

However, during the hearing held on Tuesday, the High Court turned down the petition citing that police had already filed the charge-sheet in connection with the case.
