JOWAI: A coal labourer — Kirendra Das (23) — has reportedly died inside a coal mine due to suffocation. The incident took place at a coal mine in Byndihati.
East Jaintia Hills Police at Khliehriat received a complaint in this regard from the victim’s elder brother, Birendra Das who hailed from Cachar district in Assam.
Sources informed the victim went inside a deep horizontal coal quarry and died of suffocation, police said.
