Smit witchcraft killing case

SHILLONG: A local court here on Monday released on bail eight persons who had been arrested on charges of being involved in the August 16 witchcraft hunting case at Smit village where three persons were hacked to death.

Police had arrested twelve persons, including three women, for their involvement in the murder cases and had registered two cases under the IPC relating to murder, pelting of stones, injury to police personnel and damage to government and public vehicles.
