NONGSTOIN: One Jubiang Sohtun, a handy man, was trampled to death at Kynshi, West Khasi Hills district on Monday.

Sohtun was the handy man of a truck (AS 25 C 3491) driven by his own brother Shinington Sohtun, both residents of Saitsama, Jaintia Hills District.

The incident occurred when Jubiang was attempting to place a stone under the rear tyre of the truck. Thinking that the stone had already been placed, the driver removed his feet from the brakes. The truck went backwards and crushed Jubiang, killing him instantly.

The body was taken to Mairang Civil Hospital for postmortem after which it was handed over to the family members.
