SHILLONG: Disappointed over the alleged indifferent attitude of Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tableland Lyngwa, Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai said that the official should step down from his post.

Shullai had apparently called the SMB CEO for problems relating to Shillong South constituency.

“I called him (Lyngwa) for a meeting on three occasions. But sadly every time, the SMB CEO failed to turn up,” Shullai said while participating in a motion moved by UDP legislator Jemino Mawthoh during the Autumn Session of the Assembly here on Tuesday.

“This is an insult to an elected representative,” the Deputy Speaker said while urging the concerned Minister to take a note of the behaviour of the SMB CEO.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that he would seek a report on the behaviour of the officer.
