SHILLONG: The CSWO(I), led by Irene Hujon has requested Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma to take all possible steps to contain the spate of violent incidents in the city.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the CSWO (I) lauded Dr. Sangma for his unambiguous stand against the demand for introduction of ILP in the State.

Hujon also spoke against the ILP and pointed out that the ILP would not be of any benefit to the people and it would only bring about more hardship while checking the economic growth of the State.

She also expressed sadness that youths, who are the future citizens of Meghalaya, are engaging in slander campaigns, violence and agitations thereby ruining their future and career.

The CSWO(I) chief, further, stated that had the NGOs taken a democratic course of agitation, it could have been tolerated but damaging public properties and victimizing innocent citizens was uncalled for.
